Chief Yeager
Chief Greg Yeager began his law enforcement career in 1994 and joined Coeur d’Alene PD in 2026. Over more than 32 years, he has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, USAR diver, detective, patrol sergeant, detective sergeant, SWAT/Sniper sergeant, internal affairs sergeant and lieutenant, drug task for commander, assistant chief, deputy chief of police, and now, Chief of Police.
Chief Yeager has a bachelor’s degree in industrial safety and a master’s degree in organizational leadership. He completed the Harvard Kennedy School’s Senior Executives in State and Local Government program and later earned his HKS Executive Certificate in Public Leadership along with two Master Certificates of Leadership through ICMA and the Professional Development Academy. He is a graduate of PERF's Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP), the DEA Drug Unit Commander's Academy, and taught nationally for over 13 years on police tactics and disaster management.
Chief Yeager is an active member of the International Association of Chief’s of Police serving on its Professional Standards Ethics and Image Committee.
