Fire System Inspections

All third-party fire system inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) reports must be submitted electronically through LIVSAFE

LIV is a modern ITM and compliance management platform built specifically for Fire Departments, and serves as a centralized system of record for inspection reports, deficiencies, and permits to improve visibility, accountability, and follow-up across regulated properties.

This requirement applies to both compliant and non-compliant reports.  Contractors and property owners are responsible for establishing accounts.

 

Contractors (Inspection Companies)

Required: Register and submit all ITM reports through LIV.

Contractors can:

  • Upload PDF or complete digital inspection reports
  • Associate reports to specific premises and system types
  • Log deficiencies by type, location, and severity
  • Track deficiency status (Open, In Progress, Cleared, Resolved)
  • Submit proof of correction documentation
  • Receive automated reminders for due or overdue items
  • Maintain company profile and inspector users

 

Property Owners / Business Owners

Optional: Request access to view inspection activity and compliance status.

Property Owners can:

  • View submitted inspection reports
  • Monitor active deficiencies and resolution status
  • Receive automated compliance notifications
  • upload proof of correction documentation
  • Tract permit activity tied to the property

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes.  Beginning July 1st, 2026, all required fire inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) reports must be submitted electronically through LIV.  This applies to both compliant and non-compliant reports.

Inspection companies must create a company account through LIV before submitting reports.

All required ITM reports for regulated fire and life safety systems must be submitted through KLUV, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, fire pumps, kitchen suppression systems, emergency generators, and other systems listed above.

Yes.  Property owners may request access to view inspection reports, active deficiencies, and compliance status for their buildings through LIV.

Failure to submit required inspection reports through LIV may result in compliance action consistent with local ordinance requirements.
