Records
The records department performs a variety of tasks for the police department. The records specialist process arrest packets in the morning and distribute them to the district court as well as the county and city prosecutors’ office. The department reads and interprets crime reports and sends them to various sections, divisions and agencies. We process criminal histories for the prosecutor office, detectives and patrol officers as well as conduct inquiries on articles, vehicles and firearms. The unit processes civil citations as well as parking tickets written by the police volunteers and the code enforcement and animal control officers. The records unit accommodate inter-personal requests from other local and state agencies. The records unit also processes juvenile petitions and complaints that are sent to the local prosecutor office. The records unit does a variety of tasks throughout the day to assist all units of the police department. The records unit is the first point of contact for the police department as they work the front desk Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am-5pm.
