    Prescription medication can be dropped off at Walgreens on Appleway or Safeway on either Neider Ave or 3rd St.

    Open containers of alcohol are prohibited in public places (parks, streets, etc) by Coeur d’Alene City Code 5.08.160A.

    It is unlawful for any person in the city to import, export, offer for sale, sell, possess, keep or store or permit the keeping or storing of any fireworks, other than non-aerial common fireworks, for any use or purpose, except that a person holding a special fireworks permit issued by the fire department may use special fireworks for a safely supervised and conducted public display of fireworks. (City Code 8.12.020)

    It is unlawful for any person to camp or sleep overnight or longer in or on any city owned, leased or maintained beach, natural area, park, playground or play field unless prior written permission has been received from the city (per City Ordinance 4.25.090)

    The Coeur d'Alene Police Department provides fingerprinting services to the public at 3818 Schreiber Way, Coeur d'Alene, by appointment only.

         •  Hours for fingerprinting services are currently Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

         •  Please call (208) 769-2318 to make an appointment.

         •  The cost for fingerprinting services is $10.00 per card. Additional cards are $5.00 each.

         •  Payment can be made via check, debit or credit card.

         •  A valid ID (driver’s license, state ID card) is required for identification.

    Traffic problems are handled by our Traffic Team. You may file a report online at LexisNexis and choosing "Traffic Concerns"

  1. Are dogs required to be licensed in the City of Coeur d’Alene?
    Dogs are required to be licensed in the City of Coeur d’Alene. Contact your local Veterinarian or Companions Animal Center for more information.
  2. How do I report my neighbor’s barking dog?
    You may report a barking dog by contacting the Coeur d’Alene Police Department dispatch at 208-769-2320. These calls will generally be handled by our Animal Control Officers.
  3.  Will the Coeur d’Alene Police Department take custody of an animal that was running loose in my neighborhood?

    The Coeur d’Alene Police Department’s Animal Control Officers will respond to take custody of an animal that was running loose in the neighborhood, if they are on-duty.

    When an Animal Control Officer is off-duty, citizens have the option of keeping the animal until an Animal Control Officer is able to respond, or setting it loose. If the animal is an immediate danger to the public, please relay the information to our Dispatch Center.
