Fire Marshal - Craig Etherton
Fire Marshal Craig Etherton has been with the Coeur D’Alene Fire Department since January of 2003 where he held the rank of Firefighter/EMT-A. Craig began his fire service career as a volunteer with Post Falls Fire Department in 1997. He was promoted from the line in December of 2012 to the rank of Fire Inspector. Craig has been an Idaho State Fire Inspector since 2000 as well as a member of our technical rescue team and a CPR and first aid instructor.
He is the current President of the Kootenai County Fire Prevention Cooperative, Executive Director of the Idaho Chapter International Association of Arson Investigators, an I.A.A.I. C.F.I (Certified Fire Investigator), President of the North Idaho Code Enforcers and the 2013 Coeur D’Alene Fire Department Employee of the year.
Craig serves as the PIO for the CDA Fire Department and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for Kootenai County. He handles media releases, interviews, and public service announcements and is one of our fire department’s social media administrators.
Craig’s current duties include Safety Inspections of commercial buildings, building inspections and plan reviews, Fire Investigation and Public Education.
