Community Opportunity Grant

2018 Community Opportunity Grant Closes 9/26/18

The City of Coeur d’Alene has received two applications for its 2018 Community Opportunity Grant which opened on July 12, 2018. This annual grant opportunity invites competitive proposals for projects or services that benefit low-to-moderate income people, neighborhoods, and/or promote job creation and economic development.

Since the NOFA was first published there have been numerous phone inquiries and twenty interested applicants in attendance between the City’s three grant application workshops. Four non-profits and one educational institution requested and received additional technical assistance but did not submit to this year’s grant cycle owing to limited organizational capacity. They have been welcomed to apply next year.

The next step in the City’s grant process is to evaluate the eligibility of the applications, share them with the City’s Ad Hoc Volunteer Committee, and work with the Committee to discuss options for awards and options for funding left on the table in this cycle.

The City advertised in the following ways to encourage diverse participation and increased awareness: CDA Press, CDA tv, City website, City Facebook, stakeholder email and phone outreach, informational flyers.
