Coeur d’Alene Arbor Day Celebration – Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th

The City of Coeur d’Alene will hold its annual Arbor Day celebration on Friday, April 24th, at City Park located at 415 W Fort Grounds Drive, from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM. The Coeur d’Alene Parks Department will work with volunteers to plant 18 trees in self-watering, above-ground planting pots, along the seawall.  Coffee and donuts will be available for planting volunteers.

At the same time, the City of Coeur d'Alene, in conjunction with the Arbor Day Organization of North Idaho, will be handing out tree seedlings. The booth will be in front of the City Park Bandshell and will be open from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM with tree program brochures and free seedlings available to the public. We will also be raffling off a few larger young trees in planters.

The Arbor Day Organization of North Idaho has given away over 88,000 trees (more than 75 different species) to local 4th graders since 1985.

Furthermore, the City of Coeur d’Alene Urban Forestry Office is assisting North Idaho College with their tree seedling giveaway on Saturday, April 25th, at the Molstead Library on the North Idaho College campus, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM as part of their Tree Campus USA recognition. There will also be vendor booths, snacks, and more!

The City of Coeur d’Alene will be celebrating its 42nd consecutive year of being recognized as a Tree City USA.
