I-90 Lane Reductions and Upcoming Closures | Oct. 16–Nov. 15
I-90 lane reductions: Oct. 16–21
Starting early Friday, Oct. 16, I-90 between Northwest Boulevard and US-95 will be reduced to one lane in each direction, 24 hours a day, through late Wednesday, Oct. 21. Significant congestion and delays are expected, including during weekday commutes.
Use alternate routes and avoid the area if possible.
If travel through the work zone is necessary, allow extra time.
Crews will pave before winter to complete most I-90 work east of Northwest Boulevard this year and reduce construction impacts next year.
Traffic after paving
Eastbound: Both lanes toward Montana will reopen after paving.
Westbound: One lane will remain open while crews finish widening near the Northwest Boulevard on-ramp. Both lanes are expected to reopen by early November.
Northwest Boulevard westbound off-ramp: Remains closed until both westbound I-90 lanes reopen to reduce merging and lane changes.
Westbound traffic shift near Huetter Road
Next week, both westbound lanes between Huetter Road and SH-41 will shift to the south side of I-90 for approximately one year while crews build the expanded lanes.
Upcoming closures at Huetter and Atlas roads
Both roads will temporarily close beneath I-90 for demolition of the existing westbound bridges.
Huetter Road: Closed Oct. 26–Nov. 1. Use Atlas Road as an alternate.
Atlas Road: Closes Nov. 1 for up to two weeks. Use Huetter Road as an alternate.
