Routine Water Meter Change Out Program

Posted: 3/18/2022 3:54:15 PM

Starting April, and continuing through October 31, 2022, the City of Coeur d’Alene Water Department will be installing new water meters pursuant to its ongoing change out program.

Water meters require service every 8 to 10 years and the change out process takes approximately 30 minutes for each meter.  In order to perform this work, it will be necessary for City crews to access the water meter.  Crews will shut off the water for a short time, install a new meter, turn on the water, and perform a flush to purge air from the plumbing system.  If City personnel are unable to contact the resident before the change out, a blue door hanger will be left notifying them that the new water meter has been installed.

City crews will be changing meters in the area from Government Way to Canfield Mountain, between Kathleen Avenue to Dalton Avenue, and the area of Huetter Road to Atlas Road, between Hanley Avenue to Prairie Avenue, at some time during the period noted above.  They will have proper credentials, and be in City vehicles and attire.
