On October 26, 2020, the Coeur d'Alene City Council met in a Special Call Council meeting and passed Resolution No. 20-059, requiring the use of face coverings in indoor or outdoor public places, with certain exceptions, to help reduce the person-to-person transmission of COVID-19. During the meeting Mayor Widmyer stated that “doing nothing was not an option, as our COVID- -19 positive numbers have gotten worse since July.” The Resolution will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on October 27, 2020, and remain in full force and effect for ninety (90) days unless it is terminated, modified, or extended at an earlier date. A violation of the Resolution is an infraction subject to a fine of $100.00.
