CDA Fire Department Encourages Wearing of Masks

We love our community and do not want to see it suffer from health or economic casualties.  The lockdown and isolation requirements that we experienced to “flatten the curve” a few months ago had devastating impacts on our community.

Due to a low rate of hospitalizations in our area we are noticing that people are letting their guard down and positive case numbers are on the rise.

Rising numbers of positive cases have led to the cancellation of many of our favorite summer activities and festivals.

The Coeur d’Alene Fire Department would like to recommend and encourage all citizens and visitors to the City of CDA to wear a mask when out in public and when social distancing is not possible.

Wearing masks along with social distancing and proper handwashing are the best practices for preventing the spread of COVID-19

If we continue to work together, we can reduce exposure to COVID-19 and avoid backtracking in the stages of reopening as outlined by Governor Little.

In our buildings, and in public, our staff is wearing masks when social distancing is not possible.  Visitors to our administrative office are asked to undertake medical questioning and wear masks.

KHQ did an excellent report showing how wearing a mask helps to reduce exposure and transmission of respiratory droplets

Please join us in helping each other & wear a mask. Thank you for your help and please have a safe holiday weekend!
