Want a quick bite to eat or a snack at McEuen Park, Independence Point or Memorial Field? You’re in luck. Concession stands recently opened at all three sites. The businesses are owned by Randy and Akiko Folk, who have operated the Tiki Hut at Independence Point for several years. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily at each site. Presently, the Harbor House concession offers primarily the shaved ice that the Tiki Hut is well known for. But the Folk’s son, Devin, said the menu will soon be expanded and by the Fourth of July, beer and wine will be available. The City Council earlier this year amended the city’s code to allow for alcohol at McEuen by permit only.
