It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of former Mayor and Councilmember A.J. (Al) Hassell, III.  Al was a dedicated public servant who served the City of Coeur d’Alene and its citizens as a City Councilmember from 1985 to 1993, and as Mayor from 1994-1998. He was also involved in the creation of the Urban Renewal Agency (later known as the Lake City Development Corporation and ignite cda) and served from 1997-2001, and 2008-2015.  Condolences to Al’s family and friends during this sad time.  He will be greatly missed.  https://cdapress.com/news/2020/mar/11/alton-al-jay-hassell-iii-76/
