Scam Alert: Phishing Emails Posing as City Application Fees

 The City of Coeur d’Alene is alerting residents and businesses of a scam alert after some local businesses have been the target of potential phishing attempts for fraudulent requests for fee payments. These attempts appear to come from the City, but do not.

The City of Coeur d’Alene only collects fees in person or through approved City platforms and never through wire transfers. Official City of Coeur d’Alene emails always end in cdaid.org. Any other email addresses should be considered suspicious.

If you receive an email requesting payment for an application fee:

• Do not open attachments or click any links
• Do not reply
• Immediately contact the City and forward the email to us for review
