The City of Coeur d’Alene is currently accepting applications for the Plan Year 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program funding cycle of its Community Opportunity Grant (COG). The 2026 Plan Year begins on October 1, 2026, and runs until September 30, 2027. Any for profit, nonprofit organization, or business may apply for CDBG COG funds for qualifying projects and services that benefit low- and moderate-income (LMI) people or neighborhoods in Coeur d’Alene. Applicants must be in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
The City has been notified that its Plan Year 2026 allocation will be $272,696. Of the upcoming allocation, approximately $60,020 will be made available in Plan Year 2026 COG funding which includes $4,863 of remaining Plan Year 2022 grant funds for reallocation. Eligible projects will be considered including Public Facilities, Public Services, and LMI Affordable Housing, including for-sale and for-rent products. A maximum of $20,904 will be available for Public Service projects. Projects must further the goals of the City of Coeur d’Alene’s 5-Year Consolidated Plan and meet at least one (1) National Objective as defined by HUD (Benefit to low- and moderate-income (LMI) persons, Aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight, Meet an urgent need). Project proposals must request funding of at least $10,000 to be considered.
An Educational Workshop will be held in-person on May 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., in the Ron Edinger Conference Room (2nd floor) located at Coeur d’Alene City Hall, 710 E. Mullan Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID, 83814.
