City of Coeur d’Alene Announces Four Finalists for Chief of Police Position

The City of Coeur d’Alene is pleased to announce four finalists in the search for the next Chief of Police for Coeur d'Alene. Following an evaluation process and first round of interviews, the listed candidates have been selected to advance to the in-person interviews which will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026.


  • Chief Jake Fisher, El Monte Police Department
  • Temporary Chief Dave Hagar, Coeur d’Alene Police Department
  • Craig Meidl, Previous Chief at Spokane Police Department
  • Deputy Chief Greg Yeager, Fort Collins Police Services

The final selection process will consist of a series of panel interviews that include participants from partnering agencies, community leaders, City staff, and elected officials.
