The City of Coeur d’Alene is proud to announce the official renaming of City Hall Conference Room No. 6 to the Ron Edinger Conference Room, honoring the late Ron Edinger’s remarkable 50 years of public service to the community, including decades on the City Council and service as Mayor. This dedication recognizes Edinger’s enduring legacy of leadership, civic commitment, and deep connection to the residents he served beginning with his first election in 1967.
Mayor Dan Gookin stated, “Long-time city council member and former mayor Ron Edinger embodied the traditional values of our city. Coeur d’Alene thrived for decades as a blue-collar town, and Ron consistently represented the common citizen on Council. With this dedication, it’s my hope that we honor his memory and his legacy. Ron served with heart, humility, and unwavering dedication to the people of Coeur d’Alene.”
The City will hold an unveiling ceremony in the newly named Ron Edinger Conference Room at City Hall on Wednesday, March 4 at 5:15pm. Nancy Edinger and members of the Edinger family will be in attendance. Mayor Gookin invites community members, local officials, and those whose lives were touched by Ron Edinger’s leadership to join the event. #
