City of Coeur d'Alene Announces Interview Date for Council Seat #3 Shortlisted Applicants

The City of Coeur d’Alene received 23 applications for the upcoming vacancy on Council Seat #3, which will occur when Councilmember Dan Gookin assumes as Mayor on January 6, 2026.

Following a thorough review of all submissions, three shortlisted applicants have been selected for interviews. Those applicants are Tonya Coppedge, Dan Sheckler, and Todd Tondee. The Mayor and City Council will conduct interviews with the finalists at a public meeting to be held January 8, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in City Hall, Conference Room 6.

The individual appointed will serve the remainder of the Council Seat #3 term, which is through January 4, 2028, and may choose to run in the next election to retain the seat.
