City of Coeur d’Alene Announces Retirement of City Administrator Troy Tymesen for 25 Years of Outstanding Service

The City of Coeur d’Alene announced today the upcoming retirement of City Administrator Troy Tymesen, who will conclude 25 years of dedicated service to the City on February 20, 2026. Mr. Tymesen has served in key leadership roles since joining the organization in 2000, bringing with him more than a decade of banking and financial experience.  

 

Mr. Tymesen first served as the Finance Director/Treasurer with the City and quickly took on additional roles in administration, assisting with property acquisitions and facilitating partnerships in special projects and programs with other agencies, businesses, and community organizations.  He was promoted to City Administrator in 2018, and over the course of his career, he played a pivotal role in guiding the City’s growth, overseeing long-term financial planning, and enhancing public services. Ensuring public safety was a priority, he was instrumental in helping shape Coeur d’Alene into a place where people will want to live, work and play.  

 

Mayor McEvers praised Mr. Tymesen’s longstanding commitment to the City, noting his steady leadership and productive partnerships, and the importance he placed on building positive relationships with staff and the community. A tireless worker, he will be greatly missed by City officials and staff who have become accustomed to seeing him during his frequent visits to every City facility.

For 25 years, he has led by example with a true passion for what makes Coeur d’Alene special,” said Mayor McEvers. “His leadership has been instrumental in our city’s success, I’ve learned a lot from him, and his fingerprints are on so many amazing City projects over the years.”
