Notice of Road Work - Government Way, I-90 to Prairie Avenue; Ramsey Road, Hanley Avenue to Prairie Avenue

The City of Coeur d’Alene (City) has contracted with Poe Asphalt Paving, Inc., to apply a chip seal coating on Government Way, from Interstate 90 to Prairie Avenue, and Ramsey Road, from Hanley Avenue to Prairie Avenue. Chip sealing is a cost effective and necessary treatment for extending the life of our roadways.  The treatment fills and seals cracks to prevent water from penetrating below the surface and causing potholes. The coating consists of liquid asphalt and rock chips, and is applied to the roadway in two (2) stages.  Chip seal coating requires dry, warm weather conditions.  The following is the application schedule (weather dependent):

     Government Way (I-90 to Prairie Avenue):

          July 13 & 14, 2021, Chip Seal Application

          July 19 & 20, 2021, Fog Seal Coating Application

     Ramsey Road (Hanley Avenue to Prairie Avenue):

          July 15, 2021, Chip Seal Application

          July 21, 2021, Fog Seal Coating Application

Every effort will be made to minimize traffic delays and maintain roadway access.  Additional work such as sweeping and paint application will occur in the weeks following the chip seal application.  Your patience is appreciated as we strive to provide an improved roadway surface.
