Coeur D'alene Libraries Suspended Through April 18

The suspension of all library programs and room reservations at the Coeur d'Alene Public Library has been extended to April 18 due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.
The Coeur d'Alene and Lake City Public libraries remain temporarily closed until further notice. The libraries are not accepting returns and have canceled all holds and curbside service. Overdue penalties for all libraries in the Cooperative Information Network have been suspended.

"It would not be realistic for us to think that we would be likely to be open for the previously advertised programs through mid-April," said Library Director Bette Ammon. "I know this is disappointing for our patrons, as it is for our staff." She said the libraries will remain closed until it is determined by health officials to be safe to reopen. The library will continue to staff its telephones - 208-769-2315- from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, to answer questions and provide reference services. Inquiries can also be sent by email to [email protected].

"Our staff is looking for ways to offer some adult programming online as we have done with some children's and teen programs," Ammon said.

The library continues to offer online services through its website - www.cdalibrary.org - which has expanded its catalog of links, especially for children. Links to other activities and information are available through the library's Facebook pages: www.facebook.com/CDALibrary; www.facebook.com/cdachildrenslibrary; and www.facebook.com/cdateens.
