The Museum of North Idaho is offering free admission on Saturday, Oct. 31, as it prepares to close its doors for the season.
“This will be one of the last days to see the featured exhibit History Outside the Museum, highlighting historic buildings, structures and sites in the Coeur d'Alene region,” said museum Director Dorothy Dahlgren. “These sites and their stories add life and energy to our communities. Also highlighted are the gone, but not forgotten, buildings like the Wilma Theatre.”
In conjunction with the October 31 free day, historic walking tours with local historian Robert Singletary will be offered for $10. The normal tour price is $15 per person. Departing from the Museum the Fort Sherman tour starts at 11 a.m. The downtown tour leaves at 1:30 p.m. The walking tours are offered Tuesday through Saturday until the end of October with special tours available by appointment. Free parking is included. Call 755-1308 for special tours.
The Museum exhibit hall reopens April 1 but the Museum office and research library are available by appointment year-round.
