As expected, the osprey have made their annual migration to the area and settled in atop the nesting pole on the south side of McEuen Park. And you can watch them live! To view the osprey cameras, visit cdaid.org and click on the small camera icon on the right side of the homepage. The raptors have been making McEuen home since the mid-1980s.
Canada Geese are still nesting in the northern nest but, if history repeats itself, will be run off by the dominating osprey in coming days. Though talked about for well over a decade, the cameras were just installed earlier this spring.
The city’s talented IT team continues to fine-tune the cameras to determine the most reliable way to stream the videos from the osprey cameras. There have been temporary outages, which have been promptly fixed by our technical team.
Meantime, the camera serving the center nest is currently down and the IT crew is working with city parks officials and local businesses to replace it at no expense to taxpayers.
