A diverse group of health-conscious professionals provided helpful advice, health screenings, food samples and bargains on health care products and services during a Wellness Fair held Wednesday in the Community Room of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library.
Local wellness stores, dieticians, chiropractors, nutrition companies, oral health care professionals, and fitness club representatives attended.
About 400 people browsed 34 booths—a far larger group than last year, said Nancy Shepherd, account manager for Helbling Benefits Consulting, host of the event.
“Coeur d’Alene is a city of wellness and events like this show people there are so many local resources in this community for people to be healthy,” Shepherd said.
Juanita Knight, a member of the city’s CitiFit team, said the free event is a perfect opportunity to educate the community.
“It’s really an awareness event to provide information that allows people to make healthier choices,” Knight said.
