Tyler Rieken of Boy Scout Troop 201 in Coeur d’Alene recently constructed a durable covered bulletin board for Ramsey Field as part of an Eagle Scout project. Rieken, a ninth grader at Lake City High School, hopes to earn Eagle Scout status later this year.
At the request of city recreation leader Adam Rouse, Rieken used rubber, rather than cork, for the bulletin board for enhanced durability. “It’s definitely a welcome addition out there,” Rouse said. The city plans to laminate recreation schedules and post them on the bulletin board.
Rieken, who has been involved with scouts since first grade, received assistance on the design from Keith Clemans, Charter Representative for Troop 201. Materials for the project were donated by CDA Builders, Central Premix and A to Z Rentals. According to the Boy Scouts of America, only about 7 percent of all Boy Scouts earn the Eagle Scout rank.
