VOTER REGISTRATION: The deadline to register to vote in the November 8, 2011. City General Election is October 14, 2011. This deadline is for anyone who wishes to vote at the polls on Election Day or request a ballot be mailed to them. You may register and vote absentee up until 5:00 p.m. on November 4, 2011.

ABSENTEE VOTING LOCATIONS: We have set a goal of having absentee voting available beginning October 17, 2011. Howver, this will depend on how soon we can get the ballots from the printers. It is recommended that you call the City Clerk, Susan Weathers, (208) 769-2231, to confirm the dates absentee voting will be avaiable.

You may vote absentee at either City Hall or at the County Elections Office. The hours at City Hall are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Kootenai County hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Both are Monday through Friday.

Remember, you are free to vote absentee any time during the times designated (you do not have to be unavailable to vote on election day to vote absentee).

Also, you may also register and vote absentee after the October 14, 2011 deadline.

MAIL-IN BALLOTS: Applications for a mailed absentee ballot are available at City Hall or at the Kootenai County Elections Office. You may also click here to print the form. Remember that you must be a currently registered voter to vote by mail. The deadline for registering is October 14, 2011.

You can either mail the application form to the address listed on the form or you can fax it to the Kootenai County Elections Office at (208) 446-1039.  The deadline for requesting a mailed absentee ballot is November 2, 2011.  Only ballots received at the Kootenai County Elections Office by November 8, 2011 will be counted.
