Four Corners Master Plan

Plans to develop a Four Corners master plan originated with the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission in 2013. It later evolved to include property to the west that is currently owned by the Bureau of Land Management.

Overall, the two-mile stretch involves about 40 acres, 29 of which are owned by the BLM. The city is working closely with the BLM on development of the master plan. If the BLM accepts the plan—which would generally require that any development provide for public uses—the federal agency could lease the property to the city at little or no cost.

The master plan study area encompasses Independence Point, parking near the Museum of North Idaho, Mullan Avenue, Memorial Field, and BLM property that extends from River Avenue to Riverstone.
