Council Member Woody McEvers

Woody McEvers has called North Idaho home since 1978, after leaving the beaches and desert of Southern California.  He and his brother Daren purchased the popular downtown Coeur d’Alene restaurant Rustler’s Roost in 1981.

His city experience started with the Traffic Safety Commission in September 1995, serving for two years.  He was then appointed to the Planning Commission in May 1997 and served for five years.

Beginning his City Council term in 2002, Woody is looking forward to serving the citizens of Coeur d’Alene with his solid business experience.  He believes government should be responsible to its citizens through honesty, integrity, and fiscal responsibility.

Woody serves on the Public Works Committee, and is a liaison to the CDA-TV Committee, Parking Commission, and Basin Commission. Woody also serves as a Kootenai County EMS Commissioner, and is the Council Liaison to the Planning Department, Municipal Services Department, and Water Department.

"The world of government is a lot different than my life as a restaurant guy. In my world, we have to make our customers happy or they don't come back. In the city job, it is almost impossible to make everyone happy," Woody said. "But, I really believe we, the Council and Mayor, strive to do what is best for Coeur d'Alene today and for the future. One person can make a difference."

Woody would like to encourage Coeur d’Alene’s citizens to consider getting involved in our great city.  If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact him on his cell phone at 691-5303 or email wmcevers@cdaid.org.
