On Friday, July 20, starting around 8:30 am, POE Asphalt will begin this year’s chip seal project. They will begin the process at the intersection of Ironwood and Northwest Boulevard. Traffic will be detoured to Lakewood Drive to access the business corridor.
There will be traffic control throughout the corridor and a pilot vehicle to assist drivers. At no time will the hospital entrances be closed for emergency vehicles and patients.
We anticipate the west side of Ironwood from US95 to Northwest Boulevard to be completed in four hours. After that crews will move over and do the eastside between US95 and Government Way.
What is Chip Seal? Chip Seal is a coating of liquid asphalt and rock chips applied to the road as a means of road preservation. The application is weather dependent. Clear the street in front of your house by removing parked cars, basketball hoops, trailers, etc. Parked cars remaining in the roadway will be towed. Expect traffic delays. If you expect deliveries or visitors, please let them know about the chip seal.
