Protecting our world is what Earth Day is all about. The city of Coeur d’Alene is excited to once again take part in the annual Earth Day celebration at the library, 702 E. Front. The event is Saturday and will run from noon to 3 p.m.

Admission is free and there will be live music, children’s activities, crafts, food vendors, information booths and a kids fun run at noon.

City of Coeur d’Alene volunteers representing the stormwater management division, parks department and planning department will be present with environmentally friendly information and interactive displays.

These include a fun Plinko game that teaches people of all ages the importance of protecting our waterways through proper disposal of liquids that flow into drywells, catch basins and grassy swales eventually end up in our drinking water.

For more information, contact Sharon Bosley at 869-1730.

Kim Harrington of the city’s stormwater management division, displays the Plinko stormwater awareness Plinko game.
