Permit Coordinator: Serves as a customer and staff resource to accept and initially review all building and construction documents, primarily involving commercial projects, for the City Building Department. The ideal candidate will help customers by answering questions about the building permit process, providing explanations of necessary plan submittal requirements, code requirements and departmental procedures, and accepting documents and performing their initial review to verify completeness and accuracy. The Permit Coordinator requires technical knowledge of construction experience for commercial applications and two International Code Council (ICC) Certifications.
Acceptable Experience & Training:
High school diploma or GED with an Associate’s Degree and supplemental education in building construction, engineering, architecture or related field preferred; and
Requires ICC Permit Technician Certification and Permit Code Specialist Certification OR one of the following certifications;
ICC Residential Building Inspector, Residential Plans Examiner, Commercial Building Inspector or Commercial Plans Examiner; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.
Starting hourly wage $19.39, eligible for a five percent increase after 12 months of service with standard or above evaluations. The position is supplemented by a generous benefit package and Membership in Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (State Retirement) is required.

Police Police Officers. (Lateral and Post Certifiable Only-Entry Level Applications are not being accepted at this time)The City of Coeur d'Alene is seeking highly motivated Police Officer applicants committed to public safety and protecting the citizens of our community. Patrol Division personnel work 10 hour and 40 minute shifts in a 28 day work cycle, during which officers work five days on/four days off with five days off every third rotation. A generous benefit package is available and membership in the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI) and Social Security is required. Current entry level starting hourly wage is $23.39. Lateral applicants will begin at a minimum of $24.56 to a maximum of $28.43, dependent on previous sworn experience and agency size. Must be 21 years old at time of testing. Recreation Part-Time Swim Instructor. Swim instructor experience and lifeguard experience preferred. Must be first aid/CPR certified. Hourly wage is $15.00.
