| A prostrate, creeping sub-shrub to 15 feet wide. Leaves are 1 inch long,
glossy, bright green and leathery, turning red in winter. Flowers are small, urn-shaped,
white or pinkish. Fruit bright red or pink. A most useful plant in the Northwest,
especially since it is a native species. Slowness in starting can cause weed problems.
Mulch with peat moss or sawdust to keep down weeds, and keep moist, especially when
establishing. |
