A semi-deciduous sub-shrub growing to 1 foot tall and spreading by vigorous underground stems. Leaves are 2-4 inches long, medium green in sun, yellow green in shade. Flowers are bright yellow, 3 inches across. A tough, dense groundcover that competes successfully with tree roots, takes poor soil, and some drought. Can invade other plantings unless confined. Clip or mow off tops every 2-3 years during dormant season.
