The goal of the Information Systems and Technology Team (IT) is to provide quality, cost-effective computer hardware and software support to the employees of the City of Coeur d'Alene. The Team is responsible for determining automation needs; purchase of computers, peripherals and software; installation of all hardware and software; limited personal computer training; providing troubleshooting and technical support to employees; and maintenance of a 400 client VOIP installation. Currently, the City has over 500 personal/mobile computers and 45 Servers located in 16 different buildings. The City uses Windows-based PC's and programs, with Microsoft Office 2003 being the primary software package.
The team is responsible for the creation and on-going maintenance of a multi-layered networking system. Using a combination of T-1 lines, wireless networking, city-owned fiber optics, and the Internet, all 16 buildings are connected.
The IT Team prides itself on being responsive to employee's needs in a timely, courteous manner. The staff includes: Kirk Johnson, Network Systems Administrator; Debra Frisbie, GIS Coordinator; Brandon Russell, Applications Data Base Developer; John (JP) Garcia, and Jon Bradbury, IT Technician.
