Councilman Mike Kennedy

Mike Kennedy has been an Idaho resident since 1991. He and his wife Kathleen have seven children, all born at Kootenai Medical Center. Mike graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in 1990 and before that was raised in New York.

Mike currently works as President of Intermax Networks, a local high-speed Internet bandwidth company, and has had entrepreneurial experience with several business startups since 1993.

Mike has also been involved with numerous business, civic, and political entities and individuals since coming to North Idaho, all focused on building organizations and promoting ideas, products, causes, or candidates. He is a 1998 graduate of the Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Coeur d'Alene program and is on the Board of Directors for the North Idaho Housing Coalition among other community activities. Additionally, Mike is a founding board member of Catholic Charities of Idaho, a social services organization that aims to solve social problems and build resilient communities.

Mike was elected to the Coeur d'Alene City Council in 2005 and re-elected in 2009. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Council’s General Services Committee, which deals with issues that arise from the Parks Department, Recreation Department, Police Department, Fire Department, Growth Services Department, Municipal Services Department, Finance Department, Legal Department and some Committees such as the Sign Board and Arts Commission. The focus of the General Services Committee is to address those issues that deal with activities of a general nature within the City Government outside of specific utility infrastructure.

Mike is interested in citizen ideas, feedback, and solutions to problems, and encourages people to email him directly at mkennedy@cdaid.org.
