DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY SEMINARS The Recreation Department is partnering with Steel Bridge Photography to offer digital photography seminars. This two part seminar is designed to show participants how to master all the photographic technologies available in today's digital cameras. The second part will include picture taking along with photographic principles and concepts of composition and exposure control. Seminar dates:

K, 1ST, 2ND GRADE BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL The Coeur d'Alene Recreation Department will register January 4 - 13 for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade boys or girls basketball leagues. The program is set to begin approximately the first of February and run through mid-March. Cost is $26.00 for city residents and $31.00 for non-city residents. YOUTH VOLLEYBALL CAMP We will offer a volleyball camp for kids in grades 1-8. Registration will be February 8 - 19. The camp will be held in March with specific dates pending. This camp is instructional in design and geared to develop and improve volleyball skills. Our instructor is Carly Curtis who is the varsity volleyball coach at Coeur d'Alene High School. Special Recreation Programs for the Disabled The Coeur d'Alene Recreation Department in conjunction with Special Needs Recreation of Kootenai County, will offer various recreation programs of special needs children and adults who have problems participating in other programs because of learning disability, sensory impairment, mental, emotional, or physical handicap. Transportation is provided to and from all activities and scholarships are available to those who qualify. To view a current calendar or events, please click here. Special Needs Recreation provides summer, winter, and spring break day camps and after-school programs in Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls. Campers can enjoy all that Kootenai County has to offer, meet with their peers, and enjoy crafts and games. Monthly Activities for All Ages: Special Needs Recreation provides 5-10 monthly activities per month for all ages. Activities such as bingo, dances, pizza nights, cooking classes, club homestead, trips to the arena, etc. Volunteer Program: Volunteers age 13 and up are welcome and are a vital part of Special Needs Recreation. YOUTH SWIMMING LESSONS
The swimming instruction will be based on the guidelines set by the American Red Cross. This program teaches aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression. These indoor lessons are offered on a six week ongoing basis from September - May with a break during the summer months for outdoor lessons.
