"St. Francis of Assisi"
by Rick Davis
The members of the Franciscan Order take a vow of poverty. Here St. Francis is depicted in a worn, stitched, and patched robe fashioned from scrap sheet metal. His fingers are cut from an automobile coil spring. The cincture at his waist is rebar. He was known for preaching to the birds. His hands are open palms upturned holding birdseed.
