Efforts on the East Sherman Master Plan are underway once again and we have more opportunities for community input.

Please join us on March 13 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. in the Library Community Room (702 E. Front Ave.) for the Envision East Sherman Strategy Workshop to confirm our vision for the type of place we want East Sherman to become and to share ideas for how we work towards that future.

This will be a fun and interactive event that builds upon all of the great input already provided by the community.

Workshop activities will include:

  • Opportunities to provide feedback on the draft Vision for East Sherman.
  • A “Build your own Streetscape” exercise.
  • Discussion around specific ideas we have for achieving our desired future.

Free food and drink will be provided!

We have created a Facebook event on the City and CDA 2030’s pages.  Please help us get a head count by indicating that you will be attending and help spread the word through social media and email.

There will be additional opportunities for community input the week of April 16th. Our consultant team will hold a Design Studio that will focus on the design of the corridor.  So please stay tuned for more information.

And, in case you didn’t hear the news, the City of Coeur d’Alene recently received a grant for technical assistance from Community Builders to complete the East Sherman Master Plan.  The grant, which is valued at close to $90,000 including the City’s match, was coauthored by CDA 2030 and the City’s Planning Department.  The master plan is on track to be completed in 2018 with assistance from Community Builders and their subconsultants, along with our community partners at CDA 2030.  Community Builders is a charitable nonprofit organization who works with western communities relating to land use, transportation and economic development.  They provide community assistance, training, research, and webinars.

We look forward to seeing you on March 13th and again in April!
