Coeur d'Con Cosplay, Fan Art Winners Named

 Based on online and in-house voting and the decision of volunteer judges the winners of the 2016 Coeur d’Con Cosplay Contest were named Saturday at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library.
The second annual Coeur d’Con on Aug. 13 attracted well over a thousand participants of all ages who enjoyed papercraft, panels, meetups, geek storytime, vendors, and, of course, cosplay.
Winners included:
? Best Overall - Shawn Shay as Sir Didymus Warington - The Mermaid Hunter.
? Best Adult - Kyle and Aubrey Craviotto as Steam Punk Wonder Woman and Superman.
? Best Teen - Grace Hoppie as Juzzou Suzuya.
? Best Youth - Luthor Davis as Pac-Man.
Winners of the Fan Art Contest were selected based on public voting at the library prior to and during Coeur d’Con..
The winners were:
? Kids 7-12: Claire Swanby, 11, for “A Path Through Spring. She received a Crayola Art Kit.
? Teens 13-17: Seairra Tharp, 17, for “Through the Rabbit Hole,” based on “Alice in Wonderland.” She received a $25 Michaels Gift Card.
? Adults 18+: Lake Edmonson, 18, for “Tomb Raider – Lara Croft.” The artist also received a $25 Michaels Gift Card.
Artists would participated in the contest can pick up their work at the Research and Information Desk at the library.
