The city of Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday will begin a pilot project for repairs to the levee on Rosenberry Drive (Dike Road) on the North Idaho College campus. This will include tree and brush removal and placement of fill in the eroded area.

There will vehicle and pedestrian road closures as workers clear trees and or debris from the roadway. There will also “No Parking” signage placed in key positions around work zones for traffic flow purposes. But the road will not be closed.

Work will be on the northerly 200 feet of Dike Road. Crews will be removing the trees previously identified by an arborist for removal and those that must be removed to repairs the levee slope.

The work will take several days, depending on weather and street personnel availability. The city is working with officials from NIC and Kootenai County as the project area is outside of city limits, on NIC property.
